3. Usage

Suzumusi is a command line program. For the windows, open the MS-DOS prompt, for the linux, open the terminal and follow the instruction below.

3.1 General Usage

You can let suzumusi read your original play list by typing the name of play list file as a program parameter.

For example, if you want to give hoge.txt to Suzumusi. Just type


suzumusi hoge.txt[press enter]
If there is no parameter given, Suzumusi tries to read playlist.txt as default play list.

To quit Suzumusi, you only have to type 'q' and press enter key. Please do not you click close button of the terminal or DOS prompt window while Suzumusi is running.

3.2 Quick Start

Some sample play lists come with Suzumusi archive. Let me show you how to play playlist.txt little quick.

For the Windows, if you double click or open DOS prompt to run suzumusi.exe, it try to read playlist.txt and play some bug's sound.

For the Linux, change current directry to where sample play lists are located. Then execute suzumusi. If you don't give name of play list, It will read playlist.txt as a default parameter.

Then type 'q' to quit the program.

3.3 Other Samples

There are some sample play list files and the wave files are available at my HP. Please try those.
  • bugs.txt : Sound of Japanese bugs.
  • sabor.txt : Lightsabar sounds
  • r2d2.txt : R2D2
  • dog.txt : Dog barking
  • dogout.txt : Something funny
  • fuurin.txt : Japanese Wind Chime
